I dunno. Tumblr lost its damn mind and now we're like a swarm of bees looking for a new hive.

I write. I teach. I parent. I draw. I knit.

My username comes from my two favorite fandoms at the time I made the account: Firefly (“shiny” = cool in the Firefly ‘verse) and the BBC Sherlock.

I write fanfic (have for ages) and sometimes I draw stuff. However, at the moment I have an enormous case of writer’s block and my current strategy is to just accept it and move on for now.

Regarding Sherlock: John Watson is still my catnip. I am quite fond of Molly and Sarah. I am pro-johnlock but also pro- other pairings, or no pairings. I can ship John with pretty much anybody. Mary still throws me for a loop. I find her perplexing and vexing.

Movies/TV: MCU/Avengers/Agents of SHIELD/Agent Carter, Firefly, X-Files, BSG, H:LOTS, The Good Wife, OUAT, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, The Fifth Element, Monty Python, X-Men, Merchant Ivory movies, Harry Potter, The Closer, Merlin, Lost, Being Human (US), Sleepy Hollow, psych, The Princess Bride, Miyazaki movies (especially Totoro), lots of other things that I am forgetting at the moment…

Books/Authors: Winnie the Pooh, Edith Wharton, Kenzaburo Oe, Kate Chopin, Zora Neale Hurston, Mists of Avalon, Virginia Woolf, Connie Willis, ACD, Harry Potter, Jane Austen, Romantic poets, Modernism, Walt Whitman, Edgar Allan Poe, Salman Rushdie, Tom Stoppard, and surely many more I can’t think of right now…

Activities/Hobbies: Writing, reading, arting (especially pencil and colored pencil, although I did try inktober this year and am warming up to pen), crocheting/knitting, cooking/baking, origami, teaching/learning, pottery, parenting, jewelry making, finding balance, being present, and doubtless some other stuff.

Places/Things/Animals/Etc.: Beaches, forests, cafes, diners, taquerias, grassy parks with lots of trees for shady picnics, rivers and creeks. Stuffed animals. Neat-looking rocks. Pretty flowers, especially pink roses. Owls. Horses. Hedgehogs. Elephants. Crows and ravens. Mythical creatures. Runes. Tarot. Wicca. And I have very fond memories of playing D&D in high school.

Foods/Drinks: Cheese. Bread. Fruit. Cookies. Chicken Korma. Pork Tamales. Creme Brulee. Coffee. Tea. Cold water. Among other things. :P
